This journey is presented as an inspirational example of how a heritage trip can be designed. In reality, every journey is fully tailor-made based on your family history, personal preferences, desired comfort level, pace, guiding needs, and season.

TOUR PROGRAM
Day 1 – Departure from New York & Arrival in Gothenburg
Flight from New York to Gothenburg Landvetter Airport.
Arrival same day or Day 2 depending on flight choice.
Private transfer to hotel or pick-up rental car.

Day 2 – Gothenburg: City, Archives & History
Guided city walk focusing on emigration history and trade. Visit to regional or national archives (if relevant to your ancestry).
Free afternoon: visit Haga district, Feskekôrka and/or take an archipelago boat tour.

Day 3 – Gothenburg to Bohuslän Coast
Drive north along the Bohuslän coast. Stops in Marstrand or Kungälv and visit fortresses.
Meeting with a local guide or genealogist in the relevant parish.

Day 4 – Bohuslän: Heritage, Coast & Culture
Church visit, cemetery walk, and ancestral village exploration.

Day 5 – Bohuslän to Dalarna
Longer driving day (approx. 5–6 hours).

Drive south toward Stockholm. Stop at Sala Silver Mine or Västerås.

Private guided tour of Gamla Stan (Old Town). Visit to the National Archives or Stockholm City Archives.
Vasa Museum or the Swedish History Museum.

Day 10 – Stockholm & Emigration History and/or Departure from Stockholm

Additional family heritage visits.
